Mato Grosso advances highway paving and major road concessions
The Mato Grosso State Government has announced significant infrastructure developments involving both new paving projects and highway concessions.
A contract has been signed to begin paving 35.66 kilometers of the MT-160 highway between Barra do Bugres and Alto Paraguai. The project, valued at R$ 53.44 million, covers the stretch from MT-246 to MT-409, passing through Currupira, Capão Verde, and Tira Sentido. The initiative aims to improve safety, reduce transport costs for agricultural and livestock producers, and facilitate access to essential services.
Additionally, the State Secretariat of Infrastructure and Logistics (Sinfra) has ratified the concession of 634.35 kilometers of state highways to the Consórcio Rota Multimodal–CS Infra. This concession covers sections of the MT-020, MT-140, MT-225, MT-244, and MT-251 highways, spanning regions between Sinop, Vera, Planalto da Serra, and Chapada dos Guimarães.
The consortium, composed of CS Infra, MTSUL Construções, and TPI–Triunfo Participações e Investimentos, has committed to a R$ 43.1 million contribution and a 13.31% discount on basic toll rates. The 30-year concession involves an estimated gross revenue of R$ 10.23 billion for the operator, who will be responsible for the operation, conservation, and maintenance of the roads.
