Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul legislative polls name leading candidates
A poll conducted by the Data Index Institute in Mato Grosso surveyed 1,600 voters early July and found that seven Republicanos pre‑candidates were among the most recalled by voters. The party’s most remembered candidate was state deputy Ondanir Bortolini (Nininho) with 1.58% of spontaneous mentions, followed by Paulo Araújo (1.43%), Valmir Moretto (1.37%), Diego Guimarães (1.37%) and José Eugênio de Paiva (1.25%). Former state education secretary Alan Porto and former Sorriso mayor Ari Lafin also appeared with 1.12% and 1.06% respectively.
In neighboring Mato Grosso do Sul, a Ranking Brasil Inteligência poll of 2,000 voters carried out from June 29 to July 3 placed Assembly President Gerson Claro at the top of the spontaneous recall list with 2.20%, the highest share among all candidates. Claro also led the Federation União Progressista bloc, ahead of other candidates from the coalition.
