Mato Grosso announces new bridge and pedestrian infrastructure

The Mato Grosso State Government has finalized the bidding process for a new 183-meter bridge connecting Cuiabá and Várzea Grande. The project, budgeted at R$ 46.9 million, will link the Santa Isabel and Santa Rosa neighborhoods to the Mirante do Pari and Chapéu do Sol regions. The construction, to be executed by Engeponte, is expected to take 16 months following the signing of the contract and issuance of the service order.

This infrastructure project aims to improve urban mobility by redistributing traffic from existing bridges and enhancing logistics for the state's agribusiness sector. The bridge will provide better access to major highways, including the BR-163, which is a critical route for agricultural production.

Additionally, the state has announced the construction of a pedestrian walkway on Avenida da FEB in Várzea Grande. This structure will connect the Manga and Ponte Nova regions, specifically targeting improved safety for commuters and public transport users navigating high-traffic areas.
