Mato Grosso candidates present education proposals to Sintep-MT

Candidates for the government of Mato Grosso have engaged with the Sintep-MT union to discuss educational policies and commitments to public school professionals.

Natasha Slhessarenko signed a commitment letter at the union headquarters, stating that education will be a central priority of her administration. Her proposals include building new schools based on population demand, ensuring democratic management, and addressing unpaid annual salary reviews (RGAs). She emphasized the importance of dialogue with teachers, students, and families to prevent the mere closing or resizing of school units.

Representing candidate Wellington Fagundes, Fábio Gondim met with union representatives to present government plan points aligned with teacher demands. These include the full payment of RGAs, the establishment of a permanent negotiation table, and the implementation of periodic public exams to reduce reliance on temporary contracts. The plan also addresses specific needs for indigenous, quilombola, and inclusive education, as well as the financial strain of payroll loans on educators.
