Mato Grosso Civil Defense provides aid to cities hit by heavy rains

The Mato Grosso State Civil Defense has launched a humanitarian aid operation to assist families in Colíder, Gaúcha do Norte, and Rosário Oeste following severe storms. The emergency response includes the distribution of mattresses, roofing tiles, water tanks, and tarps to mitigate damage caused by high winds and heavy precipitation.

According to data from NASA’s IMERG program and the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), rainfall in these municipalities has significantly exceeded the October average of 75 mm. Gaúcha do Norte recorded 115 mm, Rosário Oeste 110 mm, and Colíder 90 mm. The storms have resulted in fallen trees and damaged roofs across the affected regions.

Authorities remain on alert as Inmet predicts continued intense rainfall and strong winds throughout the state's interior in the coming week. The Civil Defense is providing technical guidance to local governments regarding the declaration of emergency situations.
