Mato Grosso civil police launch second phase of Operation Incarceratus, arrest eight suspects

On 6–7 July, the Mato Grosso Civil Police’s Specialized Capture Division and the Polinter intelligence unit carried out the second phase of Operation “Incarceratus”. The operation targeted pending arrest and conviction warrants for eight individuals accused of serious crimes, including homicide, robbery, drug trafficking and organized crime.

The warrants were executed at the Dr. Osvaldo Florentino Leite Ferreira Penitentiary in Sinop, with support from the state Penitentiary Police. According to Deputy Silvia Maria Pauluzi de Siqueira of Polinter, intelligence analysis identified the outstanding orders, preventing the detained individuals from obtaining parole or regime progression improperly. The operation also assists other Brazilian federations in fulfilling their warrants.
