Mato Grosso Court Launches New Adoption Support Center with Ampara Partnership

On Thursday, 16 May, the Tribunal de Justiça de Mato Grosso (TJMT) inaugurated a new space dedicated to adoption counseling, orientation and mandatory preparatory courses. The centre is part of a 17‑year partnership with the Associação Mato‑grosense de Pesquisa e Apoio à Adoção (Ampara), an organization that assists prospective adoptive families throughout the state.

Judicial officials, including Judge Christiane da Costa Marques Neves, highlighted that the initiative expands the court’s role beyond case processing to active family support and protection of children’s rights. Ampara’s founders, Lindacir Rocha Bernardon and Daisy Anne Marklew Guilem, said the facility will help families at every stage of the adoption journey, from initial preparation to post‑adoption follow‑up, reinforcing permanent, healthy bonds between children and parents.

The new centre is hailed as a rare model of judicial‑civil society collaboration in Brazil, aiming to guarantee the fundamental right of children and adolescents to live in a family and community environment.
