Mato Grosso Court of Accounts advances mandatory accounting software and achieves full IEGM participation

The Court of Accounts of Mato Grosso (TCE-MT) has approved a bill to be sent to the State Legislative Assembly that would mandate the use of the Siafic-MT software in all municipalities within the state. Developed by the TCE-MT, this free platform aims to ensure compliance with Federal Decree No. 10,540/2020, which requires a unified accounting system to improve fiscal transparency and management quality. The initiative addresses the fact that an estimated 95% of the state's cities lack the financial or human resources to develop or contract their own proprietary systems.

In a separate achievement regarding public administration oversight, all 142 municipalities in Mato Grosso have achieved 100% participation in the Municipal Management Effectiveness Index (IEGM) for the 2025 period. This mobilization, led by the TCE-MT, involved the completion of 987 questionnaires covering key areas such as education, health, fiscal management, and environmental protection. The data collected will be processed by the Rui Barbosa Institute (IRB) to provide a comprehensive diagnostic of municipal public policies.
