Mato Grosso Court of Accounts counselors protest dismissal of supervisor

Counselors of the Mato Grosso Court of Accounts (TCE-MT) have issued a public note of solidarity following the dismissal of Waldir Júlio Teis from his role as Supervisor of the Superior School of Accounts. The decision was made by the President of the Court, Sérgio Ricardo, who has personally assumed the position.

Counselors Antonio Joaquim, Guilherme Maluf, and Alisson Carvalho expressed “grave institutional concern” regarding the circumstances of the dismissal. They argued that in a collegiate body, differences of opinion are inherent and necessary, and that no member should face administrative consequences for their professional positions. The signatories called for a reconsideration of the decision to preserve institutional harmony, autonomy, and the plurality of views within the Court.

Internal tensions have reportedly increased, with reports suggesting the move may be linked to recent disagreements during court judgments. The friction has impacted the Court's operations, recently resulting in a session being canceled due to a lack of quorum after four counselors failed to attend.
