Mato Grosso Court suspends systems after security incident

The Court of Justice of Mato Grosso (TJMT) has suspended judicial deadlines and court operations following a security incident involving its technological infrastructure. The breach involved the unauthorized access of user credentials, including encrypted logins and passwords. While investigations continue to determine the full extent of the incident, the court stated there is currently no evidence that judicial decisions, backup systems, or the personal data of magistrates and staff were compromised.

As a preventive measure, all passwords are being reset, and the Electronic Judicial Process (PJe) and other judicial systems remain offline. Court activities are suspended from September 21 to 25, with regular operations and deadlines expected to resume on September 28. During this period, court business is limited to internal operations and emergency duty shifts, while external services such as electronic filing and case inquiries remain unavailable.

The Brazilian Bar Association (OAB-MT) is monitoring the situation. The TJMT has committed to issuing a formal certificate of system unavailability once services are normalized to ensure legal rights and defense procedures are protected.
