Mato Grosso de Sul proposes R$ 27.99 billion budget for 2027

The government of Mato Grosso do Sul has submitted a proposal for the 2027 Annual Budget Law (LOA) to the State Legislative Assembly. The proposed budget of R$ 27.99 billion represents a 2.95% increase over the 2026 budget, which was set at R$ 27.19 billion.

The proposal, introduced via Bill 153/2026, includes both fiscal and social security budgets. Of the total, R$ 24.64 billion is allocated to current revenues, while capital revenues are estimated at R$ 502.3 million. On the expenditure side, the plan earmarks R$ 20.48 billion for current expenses and R$ 3.61 billion for capital expenses, with R$ 117.21 million reserved for contingencies.

The bill must be reviewed by the Constitution, Justice, and Redaction Commission before proceeding to plenary discussion and voting by the Finance and Budget Commission. The legislative process is expected to conclude before the parliamentary recess in December.
