Mato Grosso do Sul deputies approve domestic violence prevention bill

The Legislative Assembly of Mato Grosso do Sul (ALEMS) has approved a bill aimed at combating domestic violence against women. Authored by State Deputy Mara Caseiro, the legislation focuses on organizing data to support the creation and monitoring of public protection policies.

The bill establishes guidelines for collecting and analyzing information regarding violence against women within the state. Key objectives include the production of statistics and thematic maps to identify territorial patterns and specific characteristics of registered cases. The proposal seeks to integrate information across various sectors, including public security, justice, health, social assistance, education, and human rights.

To ensure effective policy formulation, the bill promotes coordination between civil society and the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches. It also incorporates an intersectional perspective to address the varying vulnerabilities faced by different groups of women, while mandating that all data management adheres to privacy and personal data protection standards.
