Mato Grosso do Sul electoral court releases 2026 candidate registrations
The Regional Electoral Court of Mato Grosso do Sul (TRE-MS) has released the official list of candidate registrations for the October 4, 2026, elections. The publication includes requests from various parties and federations, such as Federação União Progressista, Federação Brasil da Esperança, MDB, NOVO, and MISSÃO.
Following this publication, a five-day period has begun for interested parties to file challenges to any candidacy via the Electronic Judicial Process (PJe). During this time, citizens may also report potential ineligibility regarding specific candidates. The registry covers candidates for state deputy, federal deputy, senator, and vice-governor.
Among the official filings is Renato Gomes (DC), a 40-year-old economist running for governor alongside vice-candidate Thiago Martins (DC). Gomes, whose assets are valued at approximately R$ 922,938, has proposed a government plan focused on transparency, public service investment, and reducing costs for families. His platform includes using artificial intelligence to monitor public accounts and implementing digital tools to increase administrative honesty.
