Mato Grosso do Sul gang threat list tied to murder of former inmate

A social‑media post circulating in Mato Grosso do Sul listed 24 individuals allegedly marked for death by the Comando Vermelho (CV). One of the names was Gustavo Loschiavo Araújo, a 29‑year‑old who was shot dead while in his car in Cassilândia on 25 May. Police reports indicate the victim had left prison earlier and was reportedly being threatened by criminal organizations. The list also referenced several cities in the state, including Campo Grande, Alcinópolis, Costa Rica, Inocência, Três Lagoas, Dourados, Corumbá and Ponta Porã, underscoring the CV’s claimed territorial influence. Investigators from the Civil Police’s General Investigations Sector (SIG) and forensic teams examined the crime scene, confirming the fatal gunshots and the victim’s lack of resistance.

The incident highlights ongoing organized‑crime tensions in the region, as the CV reportedly uses public threats to intimidate rivals and enforce its dominance across multiple municipalities.
