ALEMS votes on housing, public ministry structure, and local utility status

The Legislative Assembly of Mato Grosso do Sul (ALEMS) has been active with several legislative developments. Recent votes include declaring state public utility status for the Association of Urbanized Indians of Nioaque (AIURNI) and the Mocidade Independente da Nova Corumbá samba school. Other approved measures include naming the MS-145 highway and a Fire Department building.

Additionally, the assembly is deliberating on housing and administrative projects. This includes a proposal to donate 16.9 hectares in Corumbá for the construction of 1,500 housing units and a bill to expand the personnel structure of the Public Ministry of Mato Grosso do Sul by creating 454 new positions.

In local events, Gerson Claro, president of ALEMS, reported record registration for the 3rd Corrida dos Poderes, which expects over 4,000 participants in Campo Grande this October.
