Mato Grosso do Sul launches integrated seminar to combat pesticide smuggling

Authorities in Mato Grosso do Sul have launched a training seminar focused on the integrated inspection of agricultural inputs to combat the smuggling of pesticides and other illegal supplies. Held in Campo Grande, the event aims to improve strategies for monitoring the trade and transport of agricultural products.

The seminar is a collaborative effort involving several public and private entities, including the State Agency for Animal and Plant Sanitary Defense (Iagro), the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), the Federal Highway Police (PRF), CropLife Brasil, the National Association of Agricultural and Veterinary Input Distributors (Andav), and the National Institute for the Processing of Empty Packaging (inpEV).

Alex Melotto, deputy secretary of the State Secretariat for Environment, Development, Science, Technology, and Innovation (Semadesc), emphasized that joint mobilization is vital to protect rural activities and prevent illegal products from compromising plant health and production sustainability.
