Mato Grosso do Sul police arrest gang member 'Chefinho' linked to 'Bin Laden' killing

A 23‑year‑old man known as “Chefinho”, a member of a criminal faction contesting control of the Comodoro border area, was arrested on 5 August in Cassilândia, Mato Grosso do Sul. The arrest was carried out by the Mato Grosso do Sul Civil Police following an investigation by the Mato Grosso Civil Police. Chefinho is a target of Operation Kikimora, launched by the Comodoro police in May to investigate the April homicide of Jonathan César Passos de Siqueira, known as “Bin Laden”, who was shot inside his home in the Cidade Verde neighbourhood.

He had been on the run since the operation began. In May, police seized pistols, ammunition, a mask and a vehicle plate, and detained four individuals linked to his faction. The investigation remains ongoing.
