Mato Grosso do Sul reports one Alzheimer's death per day

In Mato Grosso do Sul, complications from Alzheimer's disease result in an average of one death every 26 hours. Data from the Ministry of Health indicates that 337 deaths were recorded in the state last year, with 127 deaths occurring between January and May of this year.

To address neurodegenerative diseases and mental health, the state observes ‘Agosto Verde’ (Green August). This campaign, established by State Law 5.088/2017, focuses on educational and preventive actions throughout the month, coinciding with National Health Day on August 5.
