Mato Grosso education department launches campaign against child labor and opens online pre‑ENEM course

The Secretaria de Estado de Educação de Mato Grosso (Seduc‑MT) will begin a coordinated mobilisation across the public school network in June to combat child labor and the resulting school abandonment. The initiative, driven by the Núcleo de Mediação Escolar and aligned with the state’s Peace Culture policy, will introduce multisetorial discussion circles, reflective campaigns and legal guidance based on Orientative No. 005/2025. Schools will be trained to spot signs of child work, such as sudden drops in grades, excessive fatigue, unexplained absences and physical injuries, and will direct families to protection services.

Simultaneously, Seduc‑MT opened enrollment for the digital Pre‑ENEM course (Pré‑Enem Digit@l MT) for graduates of the state network and the broader community. Registrations run from 1 – 21 June 2026, with classes delivered entirely online via the AVA platform, offering recorded lessons, live interactive sessions, simulations and writing workshops. Secretary of Education Flávia Soares highlighted the expansion as a step toward greater equity in university‑entry preparation.
