Mato Grosso Education Secretariat launches Educarte Festival for student artists
The Mato Grosso State Education Secretariat (Seduc‑MT) issued Edital No. 016/2026 to establish the Festival Educarte – Conectando Talentos, a competition for students enrolled in the state’s Educarte project. The festival, organized across all regional and metropolitan education directorates, features five artistic categories – music, theatre, dance, visual arts and marching bands – and requires works to address socially relevant themes such as the environment, ethnic‑racial diversity, traffic safety, food security, ethics, health, violence against women and art in schools.
Only teachers responsible for the project may submit entries, provided they are actively employed, devote at least 15 hours a week to Educarte and have up‑to‑date program reports. Each school may enter one work per category. Submissions are evaluated at school, regional and state levels; regional directorates will select one work per category (the metropolitan directorate may select two). Seventy works are slated to advance to a state‑wide final in Cuiabá in November 2026. The three best entries in each category will receive bicycles for the students, while the supervising teachers will be awarded smartphones or tablets.
Key dates: the edital was released in July 2026; registration runs until 30 September 2026; regional stages occur 1–22 October; the list of state finalists is announced on 26 October; the state final takes place in November in Cuiabá.
