Mato Grosso Electoral Court rules on AI-generated political satire

The Electoral Court of Mato Grosso has denied a right of reply requested by Leonardo Tadeu Bortolin against Luis Pereira Costa and Adriano Carvalho, known as Inspetor Adriano. The case involved a satirical video posted on social media during the election period that used caricatures, animations, and synthetic images.

Judge Glenda Moreira Borges ruled that the content, while biting, fell within the scope of political criticism and did not demonstrate manifest falsehood sufficient to justify a right of reply. However, the court maintained the order to remove the video because it lacked the mandatory labeling required for content produced using artificial intelligence.
