Mato Grosso faces extreme heat with temperatures reaching 41°C

Mato Grosso is experiencing intense heat, with several cities ranking among the hottest in Brazil. According to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), Nova Xavantina recorded 40.0°C, while Rondonópolis reached 39.5°C.

Forecasts indicate extreme temperatures will persist through the weekend. On Saturday, temperatures in Colniza, Peixoto de Azevedo, and Marcelândia are expected to reach up to 41°C. Other cities, including Sinop and Sorriso, are projected to see highs near 39°C.

Weather alerts include potential storms in southwest Mato Grosso and parts of Mato Grosso do Sul, as well as warnings for low air humidity in the eastern and northeastern parts of the state. The heat and lack of rain are noted as factors requiring attention for agricultural management and water availability.
