Brazil faces multiple fires across various states

Multiple regions in Brazil are facing various fire incidents, ranging from large-scale vegetation fires to urban structure blazes, exacerbated by dry weather conditions.

In Goiás, at least ten vegetation fires were recorded over a weekend, with a major fire in Terra Ronca having already consumed approximately 10,400 hectares. Other incidents occurred in Nova Roma, Caldas Novas, and Goianésia.

Urban and industrial fires were also reported across several states. In Maranhão, a large fire destroyed part of a supermarket in Mirador. In Minas Gerais, fires affected a rubber granule warehouse in Carmo do Cajuru and a recycling depot in Divinópolis. In Recife, a fire destroyed an Assembleia de Deus church in the Cordeiro neighborhood.

Other localized incidents included a fire at a residence in Taboão da Serra, a trash-burning incident in Botucatu, and a brush fire near a bridge in Rondonópolis. Emergency services, including fire departments and civil defense, have been actively working to contain these blazes and prevent further spread during the current dry season.
