Mato Grosso Governor Opens New Producer Fair in Chapada dos Guimarães
On July 3, Governor Otaviano Pivetta inaugurated the renovated Feira do Produtor “Espaço Carmelita Joana da Paixão Brito” in Chapada dos Guimarães, Mato Grosso. The R$7.1 million, 4,000 m² facility includes 76 producer boxes, parking, a food plaza, cold‑storage chambers and a full roof, replacing an older open‑air market that left vendors exposed to sun and rain.
State officials said the project will strengthen family agriculture, increase rural incomes and promote tourism in the region. Local producers and the town mayor expressed gratitude, noting the fair fulfills a decades‑long demand and will help small farmers sell their goods more comfortably and profitably.
The governor pledged continued investment in family‑farm support and highlighted the fair as a “gift” to the community, aiming to make Chapada dos Guimarães a regional hub for agricultural commerce and tourism.
