Mato Grosso Governor Pivetta commits to electric BRT fleet and new lane openings

Governor Otaviano Pivetta of Brazil's Mato Grosso state said the government will finish the continuous lanes of the BRT system linking Cuiabá and Várzea Grande and will issue a tender for fully electric buses within the next 15‑20 days. He added that station and terminal construction has already begun and that the new vehicles will feature modern comforts such as Wi‑Fi and air‑conditioning.

Pivetta also set a 12‑month deadline for the second BRT segment along Avenida Fernando Corrêa, which will connect central Cuiabá to the Coxipó district. Project plans and the procurement notice are being prepared, and the administration aims to enforce stricter contracting rules to avoid the delays encountered in the first phase.
