Mato Grosso Health CPI to release preliminary investigation report

The Health Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CPI) of the Mato Grosso Legislative Assembly is set to present a preliminary investigation report. The commission, led by State Deputy Wilson Santos, has analyzed testimonies and documentation provided by the State Attorney General's Office, the State Comptroller General, the State Court of Accounts, and the Federal Police.

A primary focus of the report is the surge in indemnity expenses, which exceeded R$ 1.1 billion between 2019 and 2025. Santos noted that despite a 2019 Conduct Adjustment Agreement (TAC) intended to reduce such payments, indemnity-based purchases became the rule rather than the exception within the State Health Secretariat (SES).

Additional findings include ignored warnings from control bodies, indemnity payments made to investigated companies using state and federal funds, and potential inconsistencies regarding service execution, shifts, and payment documentation.
