Mato Grosso health officials approve R$7.9 million procurement and new health legislation

The municipality of Sinop in Mato Grosso signed a contract worth R$7.9 million to acquire vehicles, hospital furniture, medical‑assistive equipment and infrastructure items for its public health system. The purchase will be made through a price‑registry agreement managed by the Intermunicipal Health Consortium (Cisnorje) and the supplier is Qualis Soluções para Saúde Eireli, based in Belo Horizonte. Mayor Roberto Dorner authorized the agreement, though the exact list of items and delivery schedule were not disclosed.

Separately, the Health, Pensions and Social Assistance Committee of the Mato Grosso State Legislative Assembly approved multiple bills aimed at strengthening public health policy. Key measures include a state program to combat gambling addiction, a restructuring of the State Health Council, and proposals to improve mental‑health services, leprosy care and occupational therapy in CAPS centers. All proposals received favorable committee reports and will move forward in the legislative process.
