Mato Grosso installs over 239,000 solar systems, ranking sixth in Brazil

Mato Grosso became the sixth Brazilian state with the highest number of new distributed solar installations over the past year, adding roughly 48,000 systems and bringing its total to more than 239,000 active installations. Nationwide, Brazil reached 4.439 million distributed solar systems by May 2026, with residential customers accounting for 84% of the total. In the first five months of the year, 297,000 new connections were added, underscoring the sector’s rapid growth.

Fabio Carrara, CEO and founder of Solfácil, said, “The solar market has reached a stage of maturity in Brazil. The technology is now part of the reality of millions of Brazilians, and the next big move will be expanding battery storage solutions and financing to lower barriers for families and businesses.”
