Mato Grosso Judiciary Expedition Delivers Justice and Services to Brazil‑Bolivia Border Community

The 2nd edition of the "Expedição Justiça Sem Fronteiras" began in Palmarito, a community in the municipality of Vila Bela da Santíssima Trindade on the Brazil‑Bolivia frontier, about 594 km from Cuiabá.

Organized by the Mato Grosso State Court (PJMT) through its Justice Community program, the expedition provides citizenship assistance, legal guidance, health care, social assistance, and education services to residents of remote border towns.

Judge José Antonio Bezerra Filho, coordinator of Justice Community, said the mission “reinforces the judiciary’s commitment to bring citizenship and rights to those far from major centers.” Mayor Jacob André Bringsken thanked the tribunal, noting the initiative “reaches families that struggle to access basic services.”

After Palmarito, the expedition will move to Santa Clara de Monte Cristo (June 14‑15) and Vila Picada in Porto Esperidião (June 17‑18), continuing services at local schools. A broad coalition of institutions—including the public prosecutor’s office, public defender, federal justice, Receita Federal, Caixa, the state legislature, and social‑assistance agencies—supports the effort.
