Mato Grosso judiciary hosts student tour and launches scientific testimony program
Law students from the Federal University of Mato Grosso's Cuiabá campus visited the Tribunal de Justiça de Mato Grosso on March 9. They observed a trial, toured the Palácio da Justiça and met Judge Christiane da Costa Marques Neves, who said, "A magistratura é uma carreira valiosa. Nós podemos ser muito úteis e fazer a diferença na vida de muitas pessoas." The visit, part of the "Nosso Judiciário" project, aims to give future jurists practical insight into the courts.
The Escola Superior da Magistratura de Mato Grosso (Esmagis-MT) released a new edition of its "Explicando Direito" program, focusing on scientific criteria for evaluating victim statements. Judges Antônio Veloso Peleja Júnior and Tiago Gagliano Pinto Alberto discussed cognitive psychology, memory markers and tools such as the SVA protocol and AI support, emphasizing that decisions should be based on "marcadores de narrativa" rather than presumptions.
