Mato Grosso do Sul initiative for domestic violence protection nominated for national award
The IntegraJus Mulher program, a joint initiative by the Mato Grosso do Sul State Government, the State Secretariat of Justice and Public Security (Sejusp), and the Court of Justice of Mato Grosso do Sul (TJ-MS), has been nominated for the 8th edition of the National Public Spirit Award (Prêmio Espírito Público).
The program utilizes digital technology to accelerate the processing and enforcement of urgent protective measures under the Maria da Penha Law. By establishing unprecedented interoperability between Judiciary and Public Security systems via API integration, the initiative allows for a fully digital workflow from the initial police report to the judicial decision and the execution of the warrant.
Before the implementation of this digital flow, processing could take up to 48 hours and relied on manual procedures such as printing documents and re-typing information. With the new system, the average processing time has been reduced to less than three hours. In a pilot project in Batayporã, the fastest recorded time was 2 hours and 1 minute. Between April 2025 and May 2026, 17,097 urgent protective measures were processed entirely through digital means.
