Mato Grosso judiciary shortens hours for Brazil World Cup matches
The state judiciary of Mato Grosso will operate on a reduced schedule—8 a.m. to 3 p.m.—on days when the Brazilian national football team plays in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The measure applies to the group‑stage fixtures on 13 June against Morocco, 19 June against Haiti and 24 June against Scotland, and will continue for any later matches if Brazil advances.
Essential services, urgent activities and the on‑call judicial roster will remain fully operational. Court and administrative deadlines that fall on a reduced‑hours day are automatically extended to the next regular business day, in line with the Brazilian Code of Civil Procedure. The adjustment is intended to allow staff to follow the games while preserving public access to judicial services.
