Mato Grosso Justice updates inspection rules for child and adolescent care services

The Corregedoria‑Geral da Justiça of Mato Grosso issued Provimento TJMT/CGJ No. 24/2026, revising the semi‑annual inspection procedures for institutional child‑care facilities and family‑foster programs. The new rules mandate on‑site inspections every six months by a magistrate, introduce a dedicated inspection form for foster families, and require verification of data in the National Adoption and Care System (SNA). Inspectors will assess physical infrastructure, accessibility, documentation, staffing, education, health care, and the individual care plans of children and adolescents. They may also involve technical experts such as architects or engineers. When irregularities are found, magistrates can set correction deadlines, request information from municipalities or service providers, and notify protection network agencies.

The changes aim to standardize oversight, ensure compliance with child‑protection standards, and improve conditions for vulnerable children and adolescents placed in institutional or foster care.
