Mato Grosso launches environmental conciliation initiative

The fourth edition of the 2nd Degree Environmental Conciliation Drive has commenced in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso. The initiative is a collaborative effort between the Mato Grosso State Public Prosecutor's Office (MPMT), the Mato Grosso Judiciary, and the State Secretariat for the Environment (Sema).

The program aims to promote self-composition and amicable settlements in environmental legal processes currently moving through the Court of Justice. Scheduled for October 13 and 14, the drive includes 67 hearings designed to resolve disputes that might otherwise take years to settle through traditional litigation.

Prosecutor Eliana Cícero de Sá Maranhão Ayres Campos noted that the initiative seeks to reduce processing times and increase the effectiveness of judicial decisions, benefiting both the involved parties and society at large.
