Mato Grosso Legislature debates 2027 budget and energy oversight
The Legislative Assembly of Mato Grosso (ALMT) held public hearings to discuss the 2027 Budgetary Guidelines Law (PLDO). State Secretary of Finance Fábio Pimenta presented updated revenue projections, estimating a net revenue of R$ 46.1 billion for 2027, an increase from the initial R$ 42.1 billion estimate due to more recent collection data.
The budget planning includes 51 priority actions across sectors such as health, education, security, and infrastructure. It also accounts for a projected 5.3% annual salary review (RGA) for state employees and approximately R$ 13.21 billion in tax waivers, primarily involving ICMS.
In a separate legislative development, Deputy Wilson Santos proposed the creation of a Special Commission to monitor and oversee electricity distribution services provided by Energisa. This follows consumer complaints regarding service quality. Additionally, the CCJR committee recently voted to overturn a government veto on a bill that would prohibit Energisa from protesting electricity debts before 90 days of delinquency.
