Mato Grosso Legislative Assembly Corregedoria visits State Control Office to enhance disciplinary procedures

On Wednesday, June 11, the Corregedoria‑Geral of the Mato Grosso Legislative Assembly (ALMT) visited the Controladoria‑Geral do Estado (CGE‑MT) to exchange experiences and study the procedures, systems and workflows used by the state control body.

Corregedor‑geral Gabriel Machado dos Santos Costa emphasized that the Assembly's corregedoria, founded just over a decade ago, can benefit from CGE's longer experience. The delegation examined the recently approved Complementary Law No. 845/2026, which updates the 1990 law governing administrative disciplinary processes for state public servants. The new law adds detailed rules for preliminary investigations, introduces the concept of “ciência ficta” to deem a civil servant officially notified after no response, and clarifies accountability for serious crimes and involvement in criminal organizations. Machado said these changes provide greater legal certainty and uniformity.

The visit aimed to strengthen the Assembly’s corregedoria, improve efficiency in investigating irregularities and promote integrity in public service.
