Mato Grosso Legislative Assembly promotes simple language for public access
The Legislative Assembly of Mato Grosso (ALMT) participated in the 2nd Simple Language Lecture Circuit in Cuiabá to discuss methods for making public information more accessible. The event was organized by the State Secretariat of Planning and Management (Seplag) through the Government School.
During the program, journalists Priscila Almeida and Álvaro Molina presented the project ‘Como é que é?’, a TV Assembleia initiative that uses short videos to explain complex legislative terms and concepts for social media audiences. The project aims to bridge the gap between parliamentary activities and citizens who may not be familiar with technical legal jargon.
Heloísa Fischer, founder of Comunica Simples, delivered the keynote lecture, emphasizing that simple language places the citizen at the center of communication and ensures that public services and rights are clearly understood.
