Mato Grosso Legislature's CCJR Reviews 454 Proposals in First Half of 2026

The Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJR) of the Mato Grosso Legislative Assembly completed its first‑semester work in 2026 after an intensive schedule of 29 meetings—13 ordinary and 16 extraordinary. The committee received 559 items, including 469 bills, 29 complementary bills, a legislative decree, a constitutional amendment, five resolutions, 53 executive vetoes and an official letter. It examined 454 of these proposals, issuing favorable opinions on 301 of them.

According to the report prepared by legislative consultant Lucas Eduardo Smaniotto, the busiest months were March, April and May, when the committee accelerated its review to clear the agenda. The next ordinary session is set for 11 August, following a plenary convened for 12 August. Among the pending work, the committee will focus on the draft Budget Guidelines Law (PLDO 692/2026), which outlines a state budget of R$ 42.1 billion and a 4.2 % annual general revision, approved in its first vote on 15 July.
