Mato Grosso officials propose new seal to protect elderly

During the 14th meeting of the Commission for Attention to the Elderly (CAPI-MT) held at the Court of Justice of Mato Grosso, officials discussed the creation of the 'Selo Prefeito Solidário' (Solidary Mayor Seal).

The initiative aims to recognize municipal managers who actively protect the elderly and mobilize citizens to direct their income tax to municipal funds. By encouraging local awareness campaigns, the project seeks to ensure that these tax resources remain within the municipalities to fund public policies specifically for the elderly population.

The project is being developed through inter-institutional cooperation and is expected to be launched next year. Representatives from the Public Ministry of Mato Grosso and BPW Cuiabá emphasized that the seal serves as a strategic tool to engage mayors in securing resources that can transform the lives of thousands of elderly residents.
