Mato Grosso police arrest suspect in attempted murder case

Police in Mato Grosso have arrested a 20-year-old man suspected of attempted murder following an incident in Guiratinga. The investigation stems from a June 13 attack where an armed individual broke into a residence, engaged in a physical struggle with a 49-year-old resident, and opened fire. The suspect also reportedly struck a nearby vehicle with gunfire before fleeing on a motorcycle.

Investigators believe the motive may be linked to a drug debt. Authorities are also examining potential connections between this incident and an execution that occurred on July 22 at a rural property in the same region. The suspect remains in custody pending legal proceedings.
