Law enforcement launches multiple operations in Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul

Authorities in Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul have launched several major operations targeting various criminal activities.

In Mato Grosso, the Civil Police conducted Operation Zira’A to dismantle a group involved in the theft and diversion of soybean cargoes from rural properties. The scheme involved coordinated efforts between drivers, weighmasters, and classifiers to bypass fiscal controls. Additionally, Operation Modo Avião was launched in Sinop to target a criminal faction involved in the distribution of drugs and weapons.

In Tangará da Serra, Operation Paralela targeted gang members suspected of torture and false imprisonment of temporary workers. Meanwhile, the Interinstitutional Asset Recovery Committee (Cira-MT) launched Operation Ganatum II to combat a cattle-related ICMS tax evasion scheme between Mato Grosso and Rondônia, with suspected fraudulent operations exceeding R$ 30 million.

In Mato Grosso do Sul, the Public Ministry launched Operation Antidotum to investigate the Santa Casa de Campo Grande. The investigation targets a fraud scheme involving ghost companies and irregular contracts, with estimated losses reaching several million reais.
