Mato Grosso prosecutors discuss AI applications for the Tribunal do Júri

The Public Ministry of Mato Grosso (MPMT) hosted the “AI in the Jury” colloquium to discuss the integration of artificial intelligence within the Brazilian judicial system, specifically for the Tribunal do Júri. The event focused on how AI tools can assist prosecutors by summarizing legal processes, organizing evidence, creating presentations, and supporting the development of argumentative strategies.

Prosecutor Leoni Carvalho Neto demonstrated practical applications of various platforms to optimize ministerial work. During the event, Prosecutor César Danilo Ribeiro de Novais noted that the technology has significantly increased productivity and reduced the time required for case preparation. Participants emphasized that while AI offers substantial gains in efficiency and quality, it must be used alongside human supervision and strict ethical standards to ensure proper legal practice.
