Mato Grosso Public Defender Organizes Educational Excursion for Apiacás Students

On Saturday, 1 August 2026, the Public Defender's Office of Mato Grosso in Apiacás arranged an excursion for 70 elementary and high‑school students from Escola Estadual Vinícius de Moraes. The group visited the Zoológico Paraíso das Aves in Alta Floresta, where they attended lectures, a film screening and social‑leisure activities.

The trip is part of the "Rompendo Muros: Educação em Direitos e Novos Horizontes" project, created by public defender Leandro Martins de Oliveira to promote children’s cultural, environmental and scientific learning and to reinforce rights guaranteed by the Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente. The event was supported by the local police, the municipal government, the municipal health and social assistance secretaries, and the Municipal Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents, whose president Raquel de Araujo Silva said the initiative gives children the chance to experience new environments beyond the school walls.
