Mato Grosso Public Ministry to host webinar on aging challenges

The Public Ministry of the State of Mato Grosso (MPMT) will host a webinar titled ‘A (difícil) decisão de envelhecer’ (The (difficult) decision to age) on October 1. The virtual event aims to expand the debate regarding the impacts of longevity and the transformations caused by population aging.

Organized by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for the Defense of Citizenship, Consumer, Human Rights, Minorities, Food Security, and the Secular State, in partnership with the Functional Studies and Improvement Center (Ceaf), the program will address long-term care, social welfare, public policies for the elderly, and age-related prejudice. It will also explore the economic and social impacts of new demographic realities.

Professor and researcher Jorge Félix will deliver the lecture, providing scientific analysis on topics such as ageism, retirement, the labor market, and technological innovations. The opening will be led by Prosecutor José Antônio Borges Pereira.
