Mato Grosso Public Ministry urges staff replenishment for regional police stations
The Mato Grosso Public Ministry (MPMT), through the 1st Prosecution Office of Arenápolis, has recommended the immediate replenishment of staff for the Civil Police stations in Arenápolis and Nortelândia. This recommendation follows an administrative procedure that identified critical staffing shortages affecting the municipalities of Arenápolis, Nortelândia, Nova Marilândia, and Santo Afonso.
Prosecutor Phillipe Alves de Mesquita noted that the deficit has forced the two stations to share personnel and resources to prevent a total collapse of police activities. He warned that the shortage has caused team overload, operational bottlenecks, and has compromised the ability to investigate and solve crimes in the region.
The Civil Police and the State Secretariat of Public Security (Sesp-MT) have been given a 10-day deadline to respond to the recommendation and outline concrete measures to address the staffing needs.
