Mato Grosso recovers R$ 4.5 million from rural producer tax fraud
The Interinstitutional Asset Recovery Committee of Mato Grosso (Cira-MT) has recovered over R$ 4.5 million for state public funds. The recovery follows the full payment of tax debts by a rural producer investigated under ‘Operation Ultimatum’.
The taxpayer made a lump-sum payment of R$ 4,510,252.54, covering the Goods and Services Tax (ICMS) and associated fines. The payment was subsequently ratified by the Mato Grosso State Department of Finance (Sefaz-MT), resolving the fiscal pending matter.
Investigations revealed evidence of agricultural products being sold without proper fiscal documentation, involving the use of invalid invoices to conceal commercial operations and tax irregularities. This latest recovery adds to the more than R$ 31.8 million recovered by Operation Ultimatum for Mato Grosso between 2021 and 2024.
