Mato Grosso reports two fatal traffic accidents
Two separate fatal traffic accidents have been reported in the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil.
In Diamantino, a motorcyclist riding a Honda Biz died after colliding with the rear of a truck on the MT-240 highway. The truck was traveling at a reduced speed due to its heavy load while ascending a mountain stretch. Emergency services from SAMU transported the victim to the Diamantino Urgent Care Unit (UPA), but she was pronounced dead upon arrival. The Civil Police and Politec are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
In Jaciara, a truck driver died on the BR-364 highway after losing control of a Scania G420. The empty vehicle struck a metal guardrail, left the roadway, and overturned in the central median. Rescue teams from the concessionaire Nova Rota do Oeste, the Fire Department, and SAMU attended the scene, but the driver's death was confirmed at the site. Traffic on the southbound lane was restricted to a single lane during the investigation and cleanup.
