Mato Grosso State Audit Office Earns International Level 3 Certification

The Controladoria Geral do Estado of Mato Grosso (CGE‑MT) was awarded the IA‑CM Level 3 seal on 18 June, one of the most demanding international certifications for governmental internal audit. The award was presented at the 58th Technical Meeting of the Conselho Nacional de Controle Interno (CONACI) in Porto Alegre and received by State Auditor‑General Paulo Farias.

The IA‑CM Level 3 rating confirms that CGE‑MT has structured, standardized and sustainable internal‑audit processes that support strategic governance, risk management and decision‑making. Only the audit offices of Minas Gerais and Ceará hold the same level, placing Mato Grosso in an elite group of Brazilian state controllers. CONACI President Leonardo Ferraz highlighted the achievement as a milestone for Brazil’s internal‑control system.

During the same event, Paulo Farias launched the Institutional Listening Strategy of the Modelo Único de Capacidade de Controle Interno (MUCCI), aimed at broadening dialogue among federal, state and municipal control bodies to further improve the model.
