Mato Grosso to host symposium on missing persons policies

The Public Prosecutor's Office of the State of Mato Grosso (MPMT) will host the 2nd State Symposium on Missing Persons. The event aims to discuss advances, challenges, and strategies to strengthen public policies for the search and identification of missing individuals.

With an average of 232 disappearances recorded daily in Brazil, the symposium seeks to improve institutional integration between public entities. The initiative is a partnership between the MPMT, the Civil Police (PJC), and the Official Forensic and Technical Identification (Politec).

The hybrid event will take place in Cuiabá and via digital platforms. It features experts and professionals from security forces, social work, and academia. A keynote lecture by Simone de Jesus from the Ministry of Justice and Public Security will address the role of Senasp in strengthening missing persons policies.
