Matosinhos hosts Out of the Blue gastronomic event

The city of Matosinhos is hosting the third edition of the ‘Out of the Blue’ event, running until October 11. The initiative aims to position the region as an international gastronomic destination by highlighting the entire seafood value chain, from fishing and auctions at the Docapesca pier to canning and restaurant service.

Organized by Opium in partnership with the Matosinhos municipality and Turismo Porto e Norte, the event seeks to leverage the blue economy and promote Matosinhos’ status as a UNESCO Creative City. Organizers expect approximately 12,000 visitors to participate in the program, which emphasizes the connection between the sea, local territory, and culinary heritage.
